Fam. 5. JOHN, (Benjamin,) b. 1663; m. Abigail (dau. of Nat'l) Butler, 27 Oct., 1692; rem. with his bro. Jonathan to Windham, where he built, in 1691-2; was a blacksmith, but ret. to Weth. and succeeded to his father's bus. as a tanner; he d. ae. 31, 21 Oct., 1694. Invent. of his est. amt. to L417-06-04; his wid m. (2) 23 Feb., 1696-7, Samuel Walker, formerly of Weth., but afterwards of Stratford, Ct., who were app. adm'rs on his est. and 5 June, 1709-10, rendered an account to the Prob. Ct., showing thatthere then remained L23-09-09 of moveables, and L262-00-00, for the son and heir -- a minor.
