FREMONT -- Dale L. Hendee, 63, of the Town of Wheatfield, formerly of Hornell, died Wednesday (May 28, 2003) at his residence in Wheatfield, after a short illness. He was born in Hornell on Jan. 2, 1940, to Willard and Pauline (Sick) Hendee. He was employed as an iron worker until his retirement in 1997. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1957-1961, at which time he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include four children, John Hendee of Hornell, William (Melanie) Hendee of Wheatfield, Virginia Hendee of Levittown, Pa., and Brenden (Shalimar) Hendee of North Hollywood, Calif.; one sister, Jean (Bob) Weaver of Arvada, Colo.; four grandchildren, Rachel and Sarah Hendee, both of Wheatfield; and Shianne and Hanna Hendee, both of North Hollywood, Calif. He was predeceased by a daughter, Michelle Hendee; his parents; and two brothers, Clark and Jimmy Hendee. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Fremont Town Hall in Fremont. There will be no prior visitation.
