Commissioner of the Peace, Undersheriff for Kent and London, Common Sergeant at Law, and lord of Footscray manor in Kent, William Walsingham also acquired property in Chelsea. Died testate with a will written March 1, 1533/34, which was proved March 23, 1533/34, requesting burial in the parish church of St Mary, Aldermanbury. He appointed his wife Joyce, his brother Sir Edmund, and Henry White, one of the undersheriffs of London, as his executors, since his son Francis was underage. By his wife Joyce, daughter of Sir Edmund Denny of Cheshunt, he had one son Francis and five daughters, all of whom married. His widow Joyce subsequently married Sir John Carey of Plashey. |
