Betty J. Hendee, 88, of the Point/Shoreland Community, died in her home surrounded by her family, on Monday, August 10, 2009. Betty was born in Toledo, OH on June 13, 1921, to Glenn and Marie (Madden) Harris. Betty's life was about her family, her faith, enjoying family and friends, and reading about history. She belonged to Point Place United Church of Christ, loved playing Euchre and her insatiable appetite to learn historical events. Betty leaves behind her son, Rick (Kim) Hendee; granddaughter, Michelle (Theron Toney) Hendee; great-grand-daughter, Mya Toney; niece, Shirley (Hal) Baker; great-nieces and nephews, Jim (Yvonne), Hal (Young Mi), Steve (Penny), and Annie (John). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert (1996) and sister, Ruth Dresch. A Graveside Service will be held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Candy Thomas officiating.
